Moxie

Per her foster- Moxie - This little lady is very well named. Moxie is a very brave kitty approaching strangers and humans with ease. She co-exists very easily with her foster siblings and understands their wants and dislikes without much conflict. Moxie is never far from her foster parents and while not exactly fond of laps or a lot of attention, she likes to be close at all times. A bed next to a desk or a warm cubby in a cat tree and she will relax and show her thanks with leg rubs and chatter. Moxie has very deep opinions on touch and handling. A few scratches on the head is often all she desires and she will let you know if she is over stimulated and needs a break from touch. Nearly all of Moxie is bravado and drama instead of actual physical conflict, but she can very clear about needing some hands-off time. With more and more time and love in her foster home, she is learning that the word 'No' is not a bad thing, and she will still be loved and adored on her own terms as she desires. This has helped her relax a lot in foster care. Moxie is a very vocal cat and adores her wet food and treats. The morning breakfast is her favorite time for affection and play. Her foster mom loves her eyes which are green in the center and brown on the outside which accentuates her varied facial expressions as she goes about her day. Moxie would do best in a home with adults only and at least one experienced kitty owner who can understand her moods and body language. She is slow to trust her humans to touch her, but food treats go a long way to build that bond - and once established Moxie is a precious lady that will keep her humans entertained with her chatter for hours. Moxie is also a very independent cat who does not require a lot of supervision or attention throughout the day. She would do well home alone for hours without issue and does not require attention at nighttime to go about her business leaving her foster family to sleep peacefully. Let this little tabby shine her little heart out and she will light up the days with her character.

Tipsy- Special Needs

Calling all of our CH kitty lovers!

Meet our beautiful girl Tipsy! She came to our rescue from a county shelter in rough shape. She was completely bald from mange and very neurologic and unable to get around. Over the last few months, we have been nursing her back to health. She now has a full coat of hair, and her neurologic status has improved significantly, but we believe that she has cerebellar hypoplasia. Cerebellar Hypoplasia comes in a variety of degrees from mild tremors and a drunken gait to significant limitations where cats are unable to walk or stand and complete normal tasks. Tipsy is somewhere in the middle. While she cannot walk very well, she can stand and she gets around very well by scooting herself from place to place. She does have some mild head tremors that do become more significant when she is excited. Due to her mobility limitation, Tipsy cannot get in and out of a litter box so she is pee pad trained. She knows to go over to her pee pads very reliably. Tipsy absolutely LOVES to be held. She starts purring instantly and would love to spend her day in your arms. Tipsy will thrive in a home that can understand her physical limitations but is looking for an incredibly sweet and loving cat. She stills plays like a kitten and wants to be loved! We believe Tipsy will do very well in a playpen or gated area when she is left alone so she can easily find her pee pads, food, and bed so she would be a perfect apartment kitty! She can certainly go to a home with other cats, but if there are dogs in the home, they will need to be laid back and very cat savvy since she will not be able to run and get away from a rambunctious dog.

Meet Marge

Littlest Momma

The littlest mamma I've ever seen, but her heart is HUGE. Marge loves to just LOVE - Her three kittens, her foster humans, and every other cat she could snuggle up to - she wants to love them all. As a result of her need to share the love, she is incredibly social and would do very well in a house with two or more cats, or a single cat that will accept her attention and need to love on them. Nuzzles, purrs, rubs, she wants to share it all with her foster kitty siblings but she is very respectful. She approaches with submission and caution until she is welcomed by another cat, then let the purrs and love FLOW. Marge loves to talk in her foster home when she is not curled up in the sun or in a cat bed enjoying a leisurely cat nap/snooze. While Marge doesn't do a ton of climbing or jumping, she does have quite a bit of energy to burn and loves to have places to roam and investigate. Some open space in a room and a few furry mice and she'll burn it all off before coming to nap. Come meet this tiny orange mamma and feel the love!

Meet Dolce

Calling all of our CH kitty lovers!

Calling all of our CH kitty lovers! Dolce is a spicy and funny little girl! She does have a bit of a tremor which we believe is secondary to Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cerebellar Hypoplasia is when a kitten is born with an underdeveloped cerebellum which causes them to have tremors, and it can vary in its severity. Dolce's CH is thankfully very mild and she does not let it slow her down in any way! We think it just adds to her adorable personality.

Meet Butter Bean

World's Best Shoulder Cat

Butter Bean is the SWEETEST boy you will ever meet! He came to use from the county shelter after we removed his one eye that was damaged due to chronic upper respiratory infections as a tiny kitten. Now he is healthy and so happy! Butter Bean does not see super well out of his remaining eye, but he does not let that slow him down. He loves to play but what he loves most is to snuggle on his person's shoulders! He is the ultimate shoulder kitty and biscuit maker! He will thrive in any home but may need some time to adjust to new animals since he can be a bit nervous around them at first.

Meet Joseph

Best Tummy Rubs

From his foster- Joseph (Joey) is a 6-month-old tabby that was brought to us for TNR. We quickly realized what a sweetheart he was and brought him into our rescue. He is currently fostering with multiple other cats and dogs. He is very good and unbothered with the dogs, he does very much enjoy the company of other cats and his adoption would be contingent on having another cat in the home with him. He is incredibly calm for a young cat, but he is a curious boy that likes to go exploring and sometimes tries to get into things. He loves pets and will generally flop over on his side when he knows that he's going to get them. He also likes to gently play with hands. He is currently fostering with one of our other rescue cats, Guppie. She is almost 4 months old and they are best friends. Guppie was brought to us from our partners at Cecil County Animal Services. Guppie is a very active, very curious girl. She has an independent streak and keeps herself entertained but when she's ready to play, she loves playing and tumbling around with Joey. They are always together playing and sometimes causing trouble!

Meet Joanne

Cutest Bean

If your lap needs a kitty - 'JoJo' is more than happy to oblige! The smallest of her siblings, she never let it stop her from trying that much harder and applying herself that much more to reach the same cat beds and scratching posts. After leaving her mom to do big kitten things she found her biggest joy is snuggled in a human lap. She loves to snuggle! A blanket is acceptable, a cat bed with her siblings will do fine, but if there is a human's lap in her sites, that is where she wants to be. If a laptop or a tablet is in the way, no problem, she snuggles on shoulders too! Anything to stay in contact and purr her little heart out, that is her number one goal. Joanne doesn't seem to mind doing her own thing, but she does tend to cry for her siblings and seek out other cats when not napping in a lap, so she would be do better with another cat her age, or one that will accept her playful/loving nature.

CANINE

Adopt Me

Meet Graham!

Graham is an almost 5 year old, Male, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix.

Graham is a very sweet and playful dog! He is one of our longest residents as he has been here since September of 2022! We took him on from another rescue, so he has not known much of the comforts of a home. He enjoys walks outside, playing with toys, and sleeping in crazy positions. He loves attention from anyone and everyone. He just wants to be loved. In his ideal home he would be the only pet as he loves all the attention to himself. He would do well with kids 10+ as he doesn’t know that he is a little to large to be a lap do. He would do best in a home with an active owner. His adoption fee is covered by an amazing sponsor. Please fill out an application to meet Graham!

Adopt Me

Meet Rubble!

Rubble is a 3 year old Male, Beagle/Pittie Mix

Rubble is a very sweet, curious, and lovable dog. His favorite pastime is playing and snuggling with his humans. He is a medium to high energy dog. He would do best in a home that has a lot of energy and can handle a dog that always wants attention. He does well with cats and does well with submissive or low-temperament dogs. He even completed an 8 week Basic Obedience Class with one of our doctors to help him learn basic skills that will help him thrive in his forever home. He would do best in a home without children
